Financial Peace University Graduation

Nathan and I graduated on Sunday!

We had our final session of our Financial Peace University class. There were 5 couples that were there for the final night (one couple was not able to be there) and we added up the amount of money that was put into savings and the amount of debt that was paid off. The total was $20,000! Isn’t that awesome?! That’s only 5 couples. $20,000 further ahead than at the start of the class. That’s great progress.

We ordered pizza to celebrate. Our class specifically chose a man to deliver our pizza who was doing it as an extra job to help his family get out of debt. We planned ahead and gave him a huge tip. It was so cool to be able to help him out. Giving generously and holding our resources with an open hand is crucial to truly having financial peace. That’s what our last session was about. I think it was the best one!

I’m so excited to hear that, since we are just starting. I would love to get a group together here to do the whole program, but I’m still pumped about it.
So, “sell something,” right? It just happens that a guy is buying gold and silver here at the Center and after talking to him Monday, I brought back Don’s class ring and the wedding ring my Grandmother left to me (that I don’t remember ever seeing her wear) and between the two we got $200. $200! I’m so excited. I put it right in the bank and will allocate another $200 towards the credit card this month. Is this exciting or what?!

Great job, Amy. How did you know about the pizza man? That was very good, very playing it forward.

We are having tornado watch and warning tonight!

He was a friend of one of the guys taking the class. He knew his story and that this was a 2nd job for him. It was pretty cool.

I’m glad you’re doing it, Terri! I have not heard of anyone who regrets paying off debt :-)
