Kindergarten- Brought to you by the Letter S

In some ways, I feel like I’m brand new to teaching again. Audrey is so very different than Ethan. I know that my way of teaching Ethan is not going to work as well with Audrey. She gets frustrated when she can’t do things the “right” way. I need to be much more methodical and give Audrey more time to learn and more opportunities to do things she is good at.  I do come with some confidence I didn’t have before. I know that this time is about Audrey progressing.

I love that she is excited to learn. I hope I don’t do anything to take that joy away. Audrey-girl, you’re going to learn so much!

So sweet! She looks like she has gotten so tall! I love that she is asking to learn. I think that is the best thing you can teach your children…the desire to learn. Good work, Amy!

I’m so excited that Audrey is starting her school. I’ll bet she is a very good student. But you are right that different kids come with a different idea of what is good enough. Perfectionists can be a real challenge to those around them who realize that nothing is ever perfect. Like me with Don putting in the dishwasher last night. It looked good enough to me about an hour before he decided it was good enough. Aghh!!

Audrey gets so frustrated when she can’t form the letters exactly the way they are supposed to look and when she doesn’t remember an answer right away, she can quickly dissolve into tears. I have to be VERY quick with praise!

I am so proud of you Amy! You have done such a great job and I know as a parent you have put my parenting efforts to shame. I may be gushing a little but I feel you must know your mother would tell you the same. Keep up the great work and yes I know Nathan is a great help mate. I love you all! I wonder if I could see Ethan on Skipe show me his birthday presents when we get back from our trip. Love Dad
