Creating Our Family Mission Statement: Part 2

Last week I began gathering information to use as we formulate our family mission statement. I knew it would be interesting to do it with the kids, but I had no idea how interesting!

Ethan was the most vocal when I asked for input. Isaac always says, “I can know” when I ask him a question. That means, “I don’t know”. It was helpful that Ethan had some thoughts. So, what does our 6 year old thing our strengths as a family are? This:

1. Karate

2. Math

3. Loving each other.

There were other things on the list. The “karate” comment was my favorite though. I asked him what he thoughts were areas of weakness or things that we need to work on. Again, I don’t remember everything he said, because of the the weaknesses that he mentioned was so awesome I couldn’t focus on anything else. One of our biggest weaknesses?

Crying in restaurants

I really do want to create a serious mission statement at the end of this process, but I found Ethan’s answers to be perfect for his 6 year old (almost 7!) brain.

If you have small children, I would love to hear what they think are the strengths and weaknesses of your family!
