Today we are trying to resume some of our normal schedule. Ethan did school today and I sat on the couch with the kids and spent time reading with them. Actually sitting down and ignoring everything around us was so necessary. The kids have been off-kilter for a month. I have not had the time or energy to give them all the attention and discipline that they really need. It was been hard on all of us. I’m hoping things get under control soon. Parenting is hard under the best circumstances. This has not been the best of circumstances! Things are settling down though.
Yesterday afternoon we took a little trip to check out the local library. Wow! It was cool! I can’t wait to be able to get my library card and check out some things. Their children’s book area was bigger than the entire library in Winsted. Nathan is looking forward to checking out the science fiction section!
We’re still tying up the loose ends on our home in Winsted. Nathan has hired out some remaining handyman things and I’ve hired my friend to go through the house and clean up after Nathan (ha! He just ran out of time when it came time to leave on Friday night. Forgot ice cream in the freezer, left the dish drain, left stuff in the washing machine. . . oh well). Please continue to pray for endurance for us as we take care of all these things from here. Nathan has been working very hard at work and recovering from the crazy week that he just had and doesn’t have a lot of energy at the end of the day. Also, he his schedule has him home later than he’s used to (for the first year until he can change his hours and go in earlier).
Please continue to pray for us. And if you feel inclined, pray with us that the Lord would help us find a good deal on a washer and dryer. We need to rent one or buy a used one on craigslist. Hoping to do that this evening, if possible!
