After all the time Nathan spent working on the ceiling in the garage, we failed the electrical inspection today.
We failed before it even began. Apparently, in Winsted, once you put a “For Rent” sign in your yard you are not allowed to do certain work on your home even though you own it. Does that make sense to anyone? The house we own– we aren’t allowed to do the electrical work on it.
And, we found out that there were other things that the previous owner had done illegally/incorrectly. These are things that we had no knowledge of. It doesn’t seem right that we have to pay to fix the illegal things done by someone else. We paid for an inspection before we moved in and there was nothing noted on these issues.
We’ve hired someone to do the electrical now. It will all be finished one way or the other. That’s not really the issue now. But would you all pray for encouragement for us? Nathan is feeling very discouraged. He feels like he is letting everyone down. He feels like he is letting us down by all the issues we are having with the house and he is feeling like he is letting Crown down because he needed to leave early today.
I just want to say that I’m really proud of Nathan. He has been working so hard for us. I know he is doing his best. I feel so awful for him that he put in so many hours on something with nothing to show for it. He was up until 1:00 this morning working and then up at 6:00am to do a few hours before going to work.
If I could ask for specific prayer, I would ask that you pray that Nathan would sleep well tonight, that the things we need to delegate would be smoothly handed off, and that his last day at Crown tomorrow would be a good one. Oh, please pray for that last one! It would be so awful, if on the last day of Nathan’s 12 years there, that they gave him the impression that he had let them down in any way. He has sacrificed so much time and energy for them.
