Grilled Ham & Cheese on Sourdough

I was looking for some easy meal ideas when I found a listing for grilled ham and cheese. My kids love grilled cheese so I thought this could be a hit!

To create this lovely sandwich, I needed these ingredients: Sourdough bread, swiss cheese, sliced ham and butter. I put a slice of cheese and a slice of ham in the middle of two pieces of bread (buttered on the outside-side) and grilled it on the griddle. I served it with tomato soup. My kids call it “dipping soup”. We all loved it! I really liked the combination of tastes that using sourdough added. This will be on our regular rotation.

Know what else is good? Add very thinly sliced green apples to the sandwich. :)

    Interesting suggestion, Kylene!
I think that is a very delicious looking picture. I want grilled cheese for breakfast! No…. better not. We had a recipe when the kids were little where we took buns and put cheese and ham on them, then wrapped them in tin foil and put them in the oven. The kids loved them, too. Probably served them with tomato soup, too!
