Nathan has been working so hard and it’s only going to get more difficult in the coming weeks (he’s going to Kansas City for a week for some required training). So, we decided to plan a special surprise for him.
First we made a plan.
Then we made a video
Then we sent it to Daddy.
Then we made valentines and hid them in various places.
Then I made apple crisp (with the apples this time).
Ethan planned some special additions to the menu for supper- yogurt that Ethan chose and apple slices with chocolate syrup.
Then Ethan and Audrey hid to they could surprise Nathan when he got home. But it was only 3:00. They decided that 2 hours was too long to stay hidden. They got out and played and then hid again once they heard the garage door open.
Daddy came home. They kids jumped out and “surprised” him. Then Ethan gave him all the valentines he had hidden in the corner. Audrey didn’t give Daddy the ones that she made. I think she forgot where she hid them.
A good time was had by all.
P.S. I have not had any refined sugar or bread since Sunday. I had no apple crisp. I miss sugar, but I like what the scale says.
