We checked out the AppleJack Orchard in Delano yesterday. The weather was beautiful! Ethan and Audrey and I went along with Marie and her littlest ones: Ezekiel, Zemirah and Gideon (and Baby Girl, yet to be born). There were several school groups there so we had to wait a while to get a wagon ride and the kids were restless. I can’t believe how Marie had still hold a 31lb 1 1/2 year old while she is 8 months pregnant. She is amazing!
The kids liked the goats and ducks and playing around with the pumpkins. I liked the Minnetonka Orchard better, but this wasn’t a bad orchard. I have pictures, but for some reason I’m having trouble getting them on the computer. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the kids could have just ran and played without us worrying about them getting into something they shouldn’t or getting lost in the crowd of other kids.
Unfortunately, the part that sticks out to me is that an older man who worked at the orchard, for some reason, came and yelled and Ethan. Then he left. He never told me what the problem was and Ethan just cried and cried. I mentioned it to one of the employees later and she gave us a bag of donuts for free! That was nice, but grrrrrr to the mean man who shouldn’t be allowed near preschoolers!
Ethan is now done with naps except for a couple a week. I make him stay in his room while Audrey is sleeping, but he can play quietly. He loves it. Today I went to get him when Audrey woke up. He was asleep on the floor! Speaking of Ethan, he just earned his “hopper” patch for Awana for learning the verses so far! It might be an iron-on patch. If not, I may have to glue it. I don’t sew. Sorry Grandma.
Audrey is talking a lot! It’s so funny to hear her try to talk like Ethan. Hearing our little girl holler things like “Blast-off” makes us chuckle. The joys of having an older brother. She tried to tell me she wanted a “drink” the other day, but I couldn’t understand her. Finally, she said, “thirsty” because she gave up on me figuring out “drink”. I asked her who was thirsty. She said, “Audrey”. Awwwwwwww. I love my kids!
I’m getting ready to start potty training Audrey. Once we really start working on it, I want to stick with it so I want to make sure I’m ready. Wont it be nice to be done with diapers? They have been a constant in my life for the last 41 months. That’s a long time!!
